Arken
Arken is a complex of 13 buildings used by the Faculty of Humanities of Åbo Akademi University, located near the banks of the Aura River. The buildings house lecture halls, offices, a library, and an underground parking garage with 59 spaces.
The original buildings of Arken were constructed between 1850 and 1930 and offer an intriguing glimpse into the history of Finnish industrial architecture. Between 2001 and 2004, the Åbo Akademi Foundation carried out extensive renovation works, converting all existing buildings on the site into teaching and office spaces and adding several new structures. The original buildings in the complex are protected due to their historical value.
Turku Technology Properties acquired Arken from the Åbo Akademi Foundation in 2025.
