IT consultancy Brightly Works Oy’s office is located at Werstas Kalevala in DataCity. The company moved into Werstas facilities earlier this year, when business growth created a need for a larger office.
Markus Varho, Luke Jäppinen, and Elina Korpela are waiting at the office when Werstas communications visits the Brightly Works office.
– We are an IT consultancy established in 2020. We have offices in Helsinki, Tampere, Oulu, and here in Turku. Our clients include medium-sized and large companies in Finland from various industries. We are also aiming for international growth: we already have a few clients abroad, says Markus Varho.
The focus of Brightly Works’ operations is on client companies’ data projects throughout their entire lifecycle: data collection, storage, and analytics.
– We do AI projects, cloud services, and user interfaces around them “end to end,” meaning we handle the entire “pipeline” from data collection to its usage. We have profiled ourselves as a workplace for more experienced IT experts, and what sets us apart from other players is our high level of expertise in IoT and automation, Varho continues.
Varho, Jäppinen, and Korpela enjoy their work immensely. Through client projects, you get to know and learn new things about the corporate cultures of other industries as well. The work also provides a good opportunity to challenge yourself and your own expertise.

The office’s location in DataCity and Werstas receives praise, as commutes are easy by bicycle, and the versatile selection of Science Park lunch restaurants is a delight.
The Brightly Works team can be seen daily at Werstas Kalevala. For Luke Jäppinen, Werstas and the Science Park area are familiar from previous jobs, and familiar faces are encountered daily while moving around the area and, of course, at the Kalevala coffee machine.

– I like coming here to the office in person. It’s nice to have people around, and having your own office room allows for peace and focus on your own work. The best part is knowing others are also coming in, and we can bounce ideas around with a low threshold, says Jäppinen.
Elina Korpela works at the company’s Helsinki office, but also visits Turku regularly.
– Werstas’ facilities are really nice! It’s great that there are many lunch restaurants in the area. We mostly go to Mauno and Yum Bao, and you can also get good snacks from the nearby K-market, says Korpela.
In addition to daily work, the Brightly team also sees each other during after-work moments.
– Today we are going out to eat and play billiards after work. Previously, we have been climbing, doing escape rooms, and playing board games, Varho concludes.
