Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt aims to make the SHIFT Business Festival an even larger event. Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt's Community Manager Carita Varjonen will begin leading the SHIFT Business Festival…
Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt's Community Manager Carita Varjonen will begin leading the SHIFT Business Festival, and she will become the CEO of SHIFT Events Oy, the organizer of SHIFT. The change follows an ownership arrangement executed by Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt and SHIFT Events on 4 October 2023, through which Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt became the company's majority owner with a 70 percent stake.
SHIFT Events' previous CEO Jutta Ruusunen will continue working with SHIFT as the event's program manager, and SHIFT ry's chairperson Pyry Kangas will serve as SHIFT Events' customer manager in the future.
Varjonen has extensive experience in organizing large events, and she has followed SHIFT closely for years in the role of a partner. This year, she was responsible for the Best Party in Science Park organized in connection with SHIFT, which also served as the SHIFT evening party. Varjonen sees a lot of good in SHIFT, but also needs for changes.
SHIFT will be an essential part of Joki's event operations.
– Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt has been a significant partner for SHIFT from the beginning and one of the enablers of the event. The importance and potential of SHIFT are recognized at Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt, and in the future, our goal is to use the event to increase the attractiveness of the Turku Science Park and all of Turku. We want to change the image of SHIFT from a start-up event to an event for all companies and expand the event's visitor base, Varjonen says.
In the future, SHIFT will be held in the heart of Turku Science Park at Visitor Centre Joki. SHIFT will become part of the Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt brand family and one of the events at Joki.
– As we were able to experience this year, Joki and its surroundings offer fantastic settings for SHIFT. SHIFT will be an essential part of Joki's event operations and will act as glue, bringing companies and communities together. The most important thing, however, is that SHIFT leaves a positive impression on its visitors and that it is felt to be worth the time spent at the event.
