On Wednesday, August 23rd, the best party in the Science Park was held in the Joki courtyard, inviting Joki stakeholders, members of the Joki business community—meaning clients and employees of Joki, Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt, and Werstas—as well as guests of the SHIFT Business Festival held in Joki on August 23rd–24th.
The evening started off relaxed with music played by DJ PikkuMiska, and at 6 p.m., the stage was taken over by the hero of all DJs, Windows95Man, with his 90s music. Windows95Man is a sympathetic retro character created in 2013 by versatile artist Teemu Keisteri, who transforms into a Superman-like entertainer for the audience once he gets behind—or on top of—the DJ decks.
At 8 p.m., it was time for the event's headline act, the Helsinki-based rap duo JVG, who had just sold out their concert at the Olympic Stadium. The gig began with JVG's older tracks, and by the time they performed their mega-hit Amatimiehen, the audience packed into Jussinaukio went wild. The show also featured mega-hits like Häissä, Tarkenee, and Älä jätä roikkuu, and the evening was crowned by the final performance of Ikuinen vappu.
The atmosphere of the party received widespread praise and exceeded the expectations of even the most demanding festival-goers.
– Just a regular Wednesday at a company party in Turku, Ville-Galle quipped to the packed Jussinaukio square, before launching into ”a song allegedly unknown to Turku residents,” Voitolla yöhön.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event!
The event is made possible by Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt, Turku University of Applied Sciences, and Rajupaja.
