Bicycle parking pilot attracted significant interest

During the summer, Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt carried out a bicycle parking pilot, where 50 facility users were granted access to a free and locked bicycle parking space on the street level of ParkCity. The goal of the pilot was to highlight the area's versatile and secure bicycle parking options and to support commuters using light traffic.

The first 50 people to register for the Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt bicycle parking pilot were accepted, and the spots were filled quickly, which clearly shows the high level of interest in secure bicycle parking solutions.

The ParkCity bicycle parking was accessed via door code, and despite the summer season, it remained in use throughout the entire pilot period. The most positive surprise was that the parking facility was also used in July, which is typically the quietest summer month in the Science Park.

– In my opinion, the pilot was a success. It was nice to notice that our facility users found new ways to utilize the area's services, and at the same time, we gained information about the demand for various solutions, says Katri Pyöli, Service Manager at Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt.

The pilot provided valuable experience and feedback, which will help in developing bicycle parking in the Science Park in the future.

– The interest and utilization rate showed that secure bicycle parking is not just a nice bonus, but a necessity for many regarding the smoothness of their daily lives. If your company is interested in renting bicycle parking spaces for your employees, it is possible, and you can ask our account managers for more information.
