Juhlavuotta onkin vietetty monin tavoin uudessa toimipaikassa. Pääsimme kyselemään kuulumisia Medikumppanin toimitusjohtaja Teija Koskiselta.
How have you enjoyed your time in Tiedepuisto and Werstas?
– Thanks for asking, we like being in the area! There are ten of us working here in Turku, but we are rarely all at the office at the same time. We moved here from Turku city center, and I think we have integrated well into the science park community, says Koskinen.
"Werstas with its services suits us perfectly."
Medikumppani celebrated its anniversary last year, as the company marked 20 years as a player in the recruitment sector.
– We are proud to be involved in supporting Finnish healthcare and providing staff across the country. We act as a bridge-builder between employees and our clients, offering employment solutions that meet the wishes of both parties. We free up our clients' time for their core tasks when we support them in recruitment, says Koskinen.

Flexible job opportunities and career paths
Medikumppani mainly recruits doctors and dentists for the public and private sectors. Three years ago, the company also started nurse recruitment, and now, as a new professional group, it also recruits bioanalysts for the needs of laboratories and pharmaceutical companies.
There is a lot of talk about the challenges of temporary work, and they are also recognized at Medikumppani. The company offers long-term employment contracts lasting over 2 weeks, allowing temporary workers to genuinely support the client's work community in everyday needs. More and more people value the ability to have more energy for their free time in addition to work.
– We have worked hard to ensure our employees enjoy their work. Resourcing everyday life benefits everyone when opportunities for flexibility are available. In practice, this can mean part-time work for a doctor or nurse depending on life circumstances. Our slogan “Work that fits your life” describes our activities perfectly, says Koskinen.
Community and networking opportunities in Tiedepuisto
The office's location in the Tiedepuisto area is considered good, as it is surrounded by the university hospital, the university, and the university of applied sciences, where future talent is being trained for healthcare as well.
– Medical research companies also complement this whole, as we also hire experts for them, says Koskinen.
Medikumppani also wants to be visible among students, and the company's representatives are a familiar sight at recruitment events at universities. Healthcare events and fairs are also important for brand awareness.
In Werstas, community spirit is visible in many ways: more casually by asking office neighbors for updates in the work café, and on a larger scale at events for the whole science park community.
– Over a cup of coffee or tea, it is nice to see others working here as well. Last year, we were able to enjoy, among other things, the Tiedepuisto Vappu doughnuts, the opening of the newest Werstas Kalevala, and the evening parties of the SHIFT Business Festival, recalls Koskinen.
In its 20th anniversary year, Medikumppani participated in the HUMANPOWER – The Most Human-Centric Organization of the Year competition, where it placed in the top ten. The company is also heading into the new year with enthusiasm, as new services are on the way.
– We are really proud to have been among the top ten human-centric organizations. The new year also offers new things to look forward to, as we will be offering new training for healthcare personnel in both patient encounters and entrepreneurship, concludes Koskinen.
